HP TouchPad Gets WebOS 3.0.5 Software Update

Whilst HP may have stopped production of their HP TouchPad tablets, they are still releasing software updates for the device as promised and the latest one has just been released in the form of webOS 3.0.5 for the HP TouchPad.

The webOS 3.0.5 brings a range of bug fixtures, plus some new features to the HP TouchPad, which include improved web video quality, faster email scrolling, faster calendar switching and more.

Sparxgear Fire Piston, Makes Lighting Fires Easy (video)

If you enjoy adventuring in to the wilderness, and need to tame the element of fire whilst on camping trips. A new device called the Sparxgear Fire Piston has been designed to provide an easy way to light a fire without the need for a lighter or matches.

The Sparxgear Fire Piston uses and improves on fire starting technology that first began in South East Asia and the Pacific Islands as a means of kindling fire in prehistory times. The device which is currently on Kickstarter, consists of a hollow cylinder and a piston. Which is forced down the cylinder to create a ember. New Asus Transformer Prime With Super IPS+ Display In Action (Video)

The other day Asus announced that they would be launching a new version of their NVIDIA Tegra 3 powered Transformer Prime tablet, the Transformer Prime TF700t.

The main difference between the new Transformer Prime TF700T is that it features a much higher resolution display than the previous mode, with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, and a quad core 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, have a look at the video of it in action below.

Nokia Lumia 710 Hits The UK Next Month

Nokia recently launched the Nokia Lumia 710 in the US, and they also announced that it would be rolled out worldwide within the coming weeks, and it appears it will go on sale in the UK next month.

As a reminder the Nokia Lumia 710 features  Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, and it features a 3.7 inch WVGA touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, processing is provided by a single core 1.4GHz processor and it also comes with 512MB of RAM and 8GB of built in storage.

ePawn Arena, Combines Traditional Board Games With Digital Interaction (videos)

A new devices has been unveiled which has been created to combine both traditional board games with digital elements to make traditional gaming more interactive. The device pictured below is not a tablet or touchscreen, but uses gaming figures. Which is recognises and interacts with.

The ePawn Arena has been designed for Dungeons and Dragons style games and in the demo experienced by DVICE, figurines placed on the Arena can interact with each other. Watch the unique ePawn Arena in action after the break.

CyanogenMod 9 Gets Demoed On The HP TouchPad (Video)

The CyanogenMod team are working on CyanogenMod 9 which is based on the latest version of Google’s Android OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and we have already seen early build of CM9 running on a number of devices.

Now we have a video, which you can see below of CyanogenMod 9 running on the HP TouchPad, and apparently everything is working except for the video playback and the camera.

Sprint LG Viper 4G LTE Full Specifications Revealed

Earlier this week Sprint announced their latest Android device, the LG Viper 4G, and with the announcement came some of the devices specifications but not all of them.

Now it looks like the full specifications for the LG Viper 4G LTE have been revealed, which include a 4 inch WVGA Touchscreen display, a dual core 1.2 GHz processor and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Samsung Chromebox Unveiled At CES

As well as unveiling their new Chromebook at CES this week Samsung have also taken the wraps off their new Samsung Chromebox, which has a similar design to Apple’s Mac Mini system, measuring 7.6″ x 7.6″ x 1.3″.

Only a few details have been released about Samsung’s new Chromebox a desktop version of the Chromebook. The new Chromebox is not equipped with a hard drive and only requires a monitor keyboard and mouse to function.

Motorola Droid 4 In Action (Video)

Motorola recently announced their latest Android smartphone for Verizon Wireless, the Motorola Droid 4, which comes  with 4G LTE, plus a dual core 1.2GHz processor and it will run Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, plus if features a 4 inch qHD scratch resistant touchscreen display and 1GB of RAM.

Other specifications on the Motorola Droid 4 include a slide out QWERTY keyboard, plus an 8 megapixel camera,a 4G LTE mobile hotspot which can connect up to 8 devices via WiFi, 16GB of built in storage plus a microSD card slot, have a look at the video of it in action below.

Xbox 360 Top Selling US Games Console In 2011

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 was the top selling games console in the US in 2012 according to a recent report, and Microsoft beat the second place console, the PS3 by a total of 2.7 million units in 2011.

The report comes from research firm NPD who have also said that the majority of the top selling games of 2011 were for the Xbox 360, with 7 out of the top 1o being for the console.

New Amazon Send To Kindle App Makes It Easy To Send Documents To Your Kindle Devices

Amazon has launched a new Send to Kindle PC application this week , which has been designed to make it even easier for you to send documents to your Kindle devices. Currently the new application is only supported on Windows PCs, but Amazon say a Mac version is currently being developed and will be arriving shortly.

The new Send to Kindle for PC enables users to transfer documents directly from their PC. By simply right-clicking on one or more documents, select print, then choose “Send to Kindle.”
