Samsung Galaxy Smartphones Help It Reach Record Profits

Samsung has announced its latest financial figures, the company made an operating profit of 6.27 trillion won, around $5.9 billion US dollars in the second quarter of 2012, which is up 79 percent on the same time last year.

The increase in profits is mainly down to the popularity of Samsung’s Galaxy range of smartphones, which have contributed to around 60 percent of their revenue.

Apple Wins Stay On Publishing Apology To Samsung In UK

We recently heard that a judge in the UK had ruled that Apple had to publish a sort of an apology to Samsung in the UK, on their website and in various UK newspapers.

Apple were ordered by the court to publish a notice stating that Samsung’s products did not copy the iPad, as Apple had previously stated, although now it would appear that Apple has won a stay on publishing the notice.

Motorola Android Devices Banned In Germany Following Court Ruling

Microsoft have been suing Motorola in a FAT patent case in Germany, and according to Florian Mueller from Foss Patents, the court has just ruled against Motorola and have decided to ban Motorola’s Android devices in Germany.

Microsoft will have to put up a bond of 10 million Euros to enforce the ruling, and Motorola will have to remove the infringing devices from retail stores, here is a statement from Microsoft.

When Google announced the Nexus 7, Asus also said that there would be some official covers for the tablet, and it looks like the first ones are now available from the US Google Play Store.

Early 2006 iPhone Prototypes Revealed

We recently saw some photos of an original iPad prototype, and now we have some of the original iPhone from 2006, as you can see from the photos below, one design looks similar to the iPhone 4S whilst the other looks like a large iPod Nano.

Google Nexus 7 Gets CyanogenMod 10 Port

We recently heard that the CyanogenMod team are working on CyanogenMod 10, which is based on the latest version of Google’s mobile and tablet OS, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
