Samsung Confirms Multiple Tizen Based Smartphones Coming This Year

Yesterday we heard that Samsung is working with a number of mobile carriers on producing smartphones running the open source Tizen mobile OS, and now Samsung has confirmed that they are working on multiple Tizen based devices.

Bloomberg received the following statement from Samsung, which confirms the earlier rumors that we will see new Tizen based devices this year, although not details have been given on when they will be available.

Google Nexus 4 Headed To T-Mobile Stores This Month

The Google Nexus 4 has become quite a popular smartphone, the device is currently sold out on both the UK and US Google Play stores, and seems to sell out as soon as it is available on the Google Play store.

According to the guys over at TMO News, US mobile carrier T-Mobile will have the Google Nexus 4 in stock in their retail stores this month, although no specific date has been given.

BLU Vivo 4.65 inch HD Super AMOLED $300 Unlocked Smartphone Unveiled

After announcing their Vivo 4.3 Dual Sim AMOLED Android Smartphone back at the beginning of August, BLU has now announced that they have created a BLU Vivo 4.65 inch HD Super AMOLED Smartphone that is now available in the US for around $300.

The new BLU Vivo 4.65 inch Smartphone is unlocked and equipped with a  MediaTek MT6577 dual core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 processor running Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system.

Samsung Looking To Sell 510 Million Mobile Phones In 2013

Samsung had a great year in 2012 with a number if Samsung devices being extremely popular last year, and now it would appear that Samsung ha big plans for 2013, according to a recent report from the Korea Times.

Samsung is expecting to sell a total of 510 million mobile phones in 2013, and out of these 510 million, around 390 million will be smartphones and the remaining 120 million will be budget and feature phones.

Vodafone UK Announces ‘Nearly New’ Plans

Vodafone UK has launched a new range of plans for both their monthly mobile contracts and their pay as you go contracts, the new service is called ‘Nearly New’, and basically instead of getting a brand new smartphone with you plan you will get a nearly new handset at a reduced cost.

The ‘Nearly New’ handsets will come with a full 12 month warranty on pay as you go and a 24 month warranty on Vodafone’s monthly contracts.

Samsung And NTT DoCoMo To Launch Tizen Based Smartphones This Year

It would appear that Samsung has plans to launch some new smartphones this year with a different OS, according to a recent report, Samsung is working with NTT DoCoMo on new devices which will run the open source Tizen OS.

According to the report other Japanese carriers as well as NTT DoCoMo are also looking at releasing Tizen based devices, probably in a similar partnership with Samsung and possibly other manufactures.

Samsung Galaxy Note II Hits 1 Million Sales In South Korea

Samsung’s Galaxy Note II has become an incredibly popular device for the company, we heard recently that Samsung sold a total of 5 million units of the device worldwide and now it would appear that the Galaxy Note II has hit another milestone.

Samsung have now sold a total of one million Galaxy Note II devices in their home country, South Korea, and the device apparently reached this milestone three times quicker that the original Galaxy Note.

Microsoft Adds 75,000 Apps To Windows Phone Store In 2012

Microsoft’s Windows Phone Store is still quite a way behind Apple’s iOS Store and Google’s Android App store in terms of the amount of applications available to download.

Microsoft has announced that they added a total of 75,000 new applications to the Windows Phone Store in 2012, which has doubled the amount of applications available to 150,000.

RIM will launch its new BlackBerry 10 devices on the 30th of January, along with their new BlackBerry 10 OS, one of the devices will be a full touchscreen smartphone which we have already seen a number of photos of, the BlackBerry Z10.
