It’s raining Google Nexus 5 rumors at the moment. Earlier today, the folks at Wind Mobile posted a pre-registration page for the Google Nexus 5 revealing its specifications, followed by a leaked image showing thousands of purported Nexus 5s in LG Canada distribution center. Several rumors suggest that Google will unveil the much anticipated handset by the end of this month, and it seems that they are correct. An image surfaced on the internet showing the purported handset in an inventory of a big retailer in the UK showing white Google Nexus 5 in stock already.
Earlier today, a screenshot from one of the biggest retailers in UK, Carphone Warehouse has been leaked showing the purported Google Nexus 5 in stock. The image surfaced from Android Police showing that there are 1500 units of the alleged handsets in white color as well as a claim that 1500 units of the alleged handset in black as well.
The interface could be of Carphone Warehouse, but there’s still a tiny possibility that it could be fake. So, its better to take this as a rumor, although it’s not a mystery anymore that the handset does exist and will see the daylight by the end of this week.
In case you forgot, Google Nexus 5 features a 4.95-inch display with 1080p resolution, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC with 2GB RAM, 16/32GB storage onboard, 8MP camera with OIS and is expected to come pre-installed with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
Rumors suggest that the handset is expected to see the daylight on either 31st of October or 1st November — we’ll go with the 31st October rumor. There’s no doubt that these are the original specifications of the device, and if the leaked price of $349 is correct, it will be one of the most affordable Android handset with top of the line specifications.
We’ll update you as soon as there’s any information about the launch of the purported Google Nexus 5.
