Bungie Signs 10 Year Deal With Activision

Bungie have justed anounced a deal with Activision Blizzard that will span more then 10 years and include the development and release of the next Halo game fanchise. Previous Halo games have generated in excess of $1.5 billion in sales by selling more than 24 million copies.

The suprise announcment comes after last week when 38 present and former Infinity Ward employees, 21 of whom recently resigned, sued Activision over alleged unpaid royalties, with a potentially $625 million lawsuit.

Verizon Rolls Out webOS 1.4.1 To Palm Pre And Pixi Plus

Verizon Wireless will today be rolling out the latest version of Palm’s webOS, version 1.4.1 to the Palm Pre Plus and the Pixi Plus. The update will be delivered sometime today and it comes with a number of bug fixes and new features.

Some of the bug fixes include easier to use Bluetooth, including improved battery life when turning off Bluetooth without unpairing a device, automatic updates for daylight saving time, plus easier connection management.

HP Kills Slate Windows 7 Tablet?

The HP Slate was announced by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer at CES 2010, and it was due to go on sale in the middle of 2010. The HP Slate was a touchscreen tablet that featured an 8.9 inch touchscreen display and was powered by an Intel Atom processor and ran Windows 7.

Tech Crunch are reporting that HP has decided not to make the HP slate with Windows 7  on it as they apparently were not happy with the way the OS performed on the tablet.

Microsoft [MSFT] has confirmed that it doesn’t intend to make it’s Courier Tablet that we have heard rumors about over the last six months, although this is the first time that Microsoft has actually confirmed its existence.

Guy Who Found Lost iPhone Prototype Revealed

The guys over at Wired have been doing some detective work and have uncovered the identity of the young man that found the lost iPhone prototype and then subsequently passed the iPhone onto Gizmodo.

The person to found the iPhone prototype is reported to be, Brian J Hogan, a 21 year old resident of Redwood City, California, who has stated that although he was paid by Gizmodo, he believes that the payment was for exclusive rights for Gizmodo to review the iPhone.

digiZoid Unveils Zo Personal Subwoofer

I like my iPhone and my iPad, but the music I listen to on the things on occasion is flat and lacks the bass I like to hear in the tracks. This problem isn’t limited to the iPad and iPod, pretty much all PMPs, notebooks, and netbooks have the same problem.

A company called digiZoid has unveiled a new device called the zo personal subwoofer. The zo promises bass like you would get from a 12-inch sub in a device the size of an iPod nano. That is a big claim, and one I would like to test.

Sanyo Unveils 120Hz PLV-Z4000 Home Theater Projector

One of these days, I will turn my upstairs toy room into a media room. That will have to wait until my kids are older though. When that time does come, I will be getting a projector so I can get a giant image. If you are in the market for a projector, Sanyo has unveiled a new one.

The projector is called the Sanyo PLV-Z4000 and it used the TopazReal HD system. The projector uses 3LCD tech and offers a 120Hz refresh rate. The contrast ratio is 65000:1 and should provide deep black levels.

Steve Jobs Talks About Adobe Flash

Apple [AAPL] and Adobe haven’t been getting on with each other lately, with Apple not allowing Adobe Flash to work on the iPhone, and the various comments coming from each camp, things have been shall we say heated between the two companies.
