Echostar HDX-200 Android Set Top Box Unveiled
Echostar Europe has unveiled its new Android-based HDX-200 set top box which has been designed to provide a compact, powerful and cost effective Android home entertainment system.
The HDX-200 runs Android 2.3 enabling you to use Android applications and is powered by a 1500D Mips-processor supported by 512 MB SDRAM and is compatible with MPEG-2, MPEG-4/H.264 AVC, WM-9/VC-1 AVC VP6, AAC, MP3 file types. It comes equipped with an ethernet connection for home networking, enabling you to view the Internet on your HDTV using its included HDMI connection.

Amazon Talking To Magazine Publishers On Amazon Tablet
We are expecting Amazon to launch their new Amazon Tablet some time in November, and now according to a recent report Amazon are in talks with a number of Magazine publishers about getting their content onto Amazon’s new tablets.
According to the WSJ, the deals that Amazon is offering magazine publishers is very similar to the ones that Apple offers, although it would appear that Amazon are willing to offer a slightly better deal than Apple.

LG Optimus Hub (Univa) Gets Official
Last week we showed you some photos of a new Android smartphone from LG, it was called the LG Optimus Univa, the device has now officially been announced in Italy and it will be called the LG Optimus Hub.
The LG Optimus Hub features a 3.5 inch multi-touch touchscreen display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, and it comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 For T-Mobile Passes Through FCC
It looks like the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is headed to T-Mobile in the US, as Engadget have spotted the device over at the FCC website, and it is identified as the Samsung SGH-T859.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 features a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, there is also a dual core 1GHz processor and it is capable of playing back full HD video in 1080p.
Paper Drum Machine And d-Touch Sequencer (video)
If you fancy creating your very own d-touch sequencer and drum machine, researchers at the University of Southampton have now designed one you can print off and assemble with a little glue or sticky tape.
To get the most from your new d-touch sequencer and to actually hear anything you will need to have access to a PC and web camera. Simply install the Audio d-touch software suite and setup your web camera above the sequencer table as below. Then use the timeline sheet and printed sample cubes to create your tunes.
