New Wireless Standard 802.11ac Arriving In 2012, Bringing 3 Times More Speed
A new wireless standard is set to be launched next year that will bring 3 times the speed more speed when compared to the current fastest Wifi standard 802.11n. The new 802.11ac will transmit wireless signals on the 5Ghz band, providing a larger range, and faster throughput for multiple HD video streams and more. It will also come with a much more power for transmission through walls.

Verizon Xperia Play LTE Revealed?
It would appear that Verizon are getting ready to launch a new version of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play on their network in the US, the Xperia Play LTE, as some internal documents relating to the device have been discovered by the guys from Android Central.
As a reminder, the Xperia Play features a FWVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, there is also a 1GHz Qualcomm QSD8225 processor, plus 512MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM.

Verizon And AT&T Testing Nokia Lumia LTE Windows Phone Smartphone?
We are expecting to see the first Nokia Windows Phone smartphone announced for the US this week at a joint event with Nokia and T-Mobile, and Nokia said previously that we would see LTE enabled Windows Phone devices from them next year.
Now according to a recent report from Cnet, both AT&T and Verizon are testing out LTE versions of Nokia’s Lumia 800 Windows Phone Device, although Windows Phone Mango doesn’t officially support LTE as yet.
Xbox YouTube App Rolls Out To Preview Program
Last night Microsoft rolled out their new YouTube app designed specifically for their new Xbox 360 dashboard redesign. The new YouTube app is not available to all Xbox users at the moment, just those that are preview program participants.
However from first reports the new app seems a great addition to the Xbox 360 dashboard. If you are a member of the Xbox preview program you can install the new Xbox YouTube app from the Apps Marketplace, to give it a try.

Windows Phone SMS Security Flaw Discovered (Video)
According to a recent report by Win Rumors, a new security flaw has been discovered in Microsoft’s Windows Phone devices, and the flaw lets an attacker disable the messaging functions of your Windows Phone device.
The attacker sends an SMS to the Windows Phone device, the device then reboots and the messaging hub is disabled, and it would appear that the security flaw is not device specific and happens to Windows Phone 7.5 Mango devices.
Apple’s Mac App Store Hits 100 Million Downloads
Apple has announced that the Mac App Store has now reached over 100 million downloads, pretty impressive considering that the Mac App Store was launched less than a year ago.
Apple did not release any specific information about how many applications are available in the Mac App Store, although they did say there were over 500,000 applications available in their overall app store, which includes iOS apps and Mac apps.
