HP Slate Tablet Aims To Undercut Apple iPad Prices

It looks like HP is aiming to price its Slate Windows 7 Tablet more competitively than Apple’s new iPad, as details have been leaked that mention the tablet will come with 3G and will have similar specifications to the 3G iPad, but it looks like it will cost less than the $629 Apple will be charging for their 3G iPad.

Hp Executives are meeting up over the next few weeks  to finalize the pricing details, and it will be interesting so see how much cheaper the HP slate is than the Apple iPad.

The Spokeless Bicycle Wheel

Students at Yale university have developed a spokeless bicycle wheel , as you can see from the photo only the rear wheel is spokeless, this was done for cost reasons as the prototype was expensive to produce.

The nine students developed the wheel as part of their mechanical engineering project, and the design would allow for both wheels to be made spokeless.

BBC Launching A Range Of iPhone Apps

The BBC has announced that it will be launching a range of mobile applications for the Apple iPhone from April, and that they also intend to launch the applications for other mobile phone platforms which include Google Android and for the BlackBerry range of handsets.

Initially there will be two iPhone applications available, one for news and one for sport, and that the applications will be available to download in April from the iPhone application store.

LG New Skinny Frame PDP TV’s

LG the world’s second largest TV manufacturer has just launched a range of new plasma display projection (PDP) televisions in Korea the X Canvas 60” 60PK550 and 50” 50PK550, 2 PDP TVs with a 600Mhz panel with a 25mm thin edge around the screens.

The images on the displays are significantly brighter than twice as clear as that on the older versions say LG Electronics.
