MSI Shows Off WindPad 100 and WindPad 110 at Computex

Computex is underway in Taiwan this week and the show is one of the largest electronics and computer trade shows in the industry. There will be all sorts of computer gear and other devices like tablets unveiled at the show.

MSI has unveiled a pair of new prototype tablets for the first time. The WindPad 100 grabbed some time at the MSI press conference and sports an Intel Atom CPU. The CPU is the Z530 and the machine runs Windows 7 with a custom UI over the top. It has a 10-inch capacitive touchscreen and price is said to be in the $499 range when it launches later this year.

Sanyo Unveils Waterproof DMX-CA100 Camcorder

Waterproof cameras are lots of fun. Not only can you take them around the pool, beach, or lake without worrying that you will ruin the thing, but some of them can actually be used in the water. Sanyo has been adding cameras to its small line of Xacti camcorders for a while now.

The most recent addition also happens to be the world’s first waterproof full HD camcorder and it is called the DMX-CA100. The camera has 12x optical zoom and is IPX8 water resistant. That means the camcorder can record full 1080p video and shoot still shots in up to 3 meters of water for up to an hour.

Asus Eee Pad EP121 Tablet

We have been hearing numerous rumors over the last couple of months that Asus would be launching their own tablet, and now we have full details on this new Asus Tablet, the Asus Eee Pad EP121 Tablet.

The Asus Eee Pad EP121 Tablet will feature a 12 inch display, and is powered by an Intel CULV Core 2 Duo processor, which is a bit of a surprise as we were expecting Asus to use an Intel Atom processor.

Department Of Justice Probe Into Apple Goes Beyond iTunes

Last week we told you that Apple may be subject to an antitrust inquiry from the Department of Justice over their iTunes music service. Now it seems that the DOJ inquiry may be going a little deeper than just Apple’s iTunes.

According to the New York Post, the Department of Justice, is also investigation how Apple does business with media companies in areas beyond music, and it seems they may have contacted several media and technology companies to get their views on Apple.

Skype iPhone App Now Allows 3G Skype To Skype Calls

Skype has now updated its iPhone application that allows users to make Skype to Skype calls over 3G. Previously you were only able to make Skype to Skype calls if your iPhone was connected to WiFi.

At the moment there is no charge for making Skype to Skype calls over 3G, although it looks like a charge may be introduced in August 2010, where users will be charged a small monthly fee for making calls over 3G, although there are no details as yet on how much this will cost.

Apple’s New Apple TV To Cost $99

Engadget are reporting that Apple [AAPL} are about to reveal a new version of their Apple TV, and this new version will get a complete re-design over the existing Apple TV in terms of both hardware and software.

According to Engadget's sources the next version of the Apple TV will be a device based on the iPhone OS 4.0, it will feature the same internal components as the next generation iPhone which include Apple's A4 processor.
