Waterproof cameras are lots of fun. Not only can you take them around the pool, beach, or lake without worrying that you will ruin the thing, but some of them can actually be used in the water. Sanyo has been adding cameras to its small line of Xacti camcorders for a while now.
The most recent addition also happens to be the world’s first waterproof full HD camcorder and it is called the DMX-CA100. The camera has 12x optical zoom and is IPX8 water resistant. That means the camcorder can record full 1080p video and shoot still shots in up to 3 meters of water for up to an hour.
The camcorder shoots 14MP still shots and has a burst mode that will shoot at seven frames per second for up to 22 shots in 2MP mode. Sanyo hasn’t unveiled pricing info yet, but the camera will ship in June. It will come in black, pink, and yellow colors.
