The Galaxy Nexus will not get an official release of the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, although a number of Kit Kat ROMs have been released for the GSM and Verizon versions of the handset, and now the Sprint Galaxy Nexus Android 4.4 Kit Kat ROM has been released.
The guys over at the XDA developers have release an Android 4.4 Kit Kat ROM for the Sprint Galaxy Nexus, the latest ROM was built by the XDA’s nolinuxparty.
Nolinuxnoparty’s ROM is a relatively pure AOSP-based build. Just like all of the other Galaxy Nexus devices with 4.4 builds, there are graphical and GPS issues. And like the Verizon build, there are also camera issues. The original build also had trouble with sensors and screenshots, but these have largely been fixed in the second version. However, the core functionality seems to work just fine, despite its alpha status, and users seem to be reporting good overall fluidity and stability.
You can find out full details on the Sprint Galaxy Nexus Android 4.4 Kit Kat ROM over at the XDA Developers.
