The Galaxy Nexus is one of the device that will not get the Android 4.4 Kit Kat update, Google is updating all of its devices that it released in the last 18 months to Kit Kat.
As the Galaxy Nexus was released over two years ago, it falls outside of Google’s update cycle for Android 4.4 Kit Kat, but owners of the device have started a petition, in an attempt to get the handset updated.
The petition is going to be sent to Google’s Sundar Pichai, who is in charge of Google’s Android OS, and the petition has close to 14,000 signatures at the time of writing this article.
Whether or not Google will change their mind, and decide to work on releasing an official Android 4.4 Kit Kat update for the Galaxy Nexus remains to be seen.
Last week we heard that there were a couple of unofficial Android 4.4 Kit Kat ROMs released for the Verizon and GSM version of the Galaxy Nexus.
If you have a Galaxy Nexus, and want Google to update the handset to Android 4.4 Kit Kat, you can find out more details about the petition over at Change.
