We previously heard that Samsung had been ruled out of the production of the new Apple A8 processor for the iPhone 6, well it would appear that this may have not been correct.
We recently heard that TSMC had started production of the Apple A8 processor for Apple’s next generation iPhone, and according to a recent report, Samsung will also build the processor for Apple.
Samsung have apparently started the testing phase for production of the A8 processor, and they are expected to start mass production some time in the next quarter.
It is not surprising that Apple would use Samsung as well as TSMC for the production of the A8 processor, as we previously heard that Apple has ordered 90 million iPhones from Foxconn, so 90 million processors would be a lot for TSMC to produce.
We are expecting the new iPhone 6 to launch along with the Apple iWatch in September, the handset is rumored to come with a number of upgrades over the iPhone 5S.
Apple are rumored to be going for a larger display in the iPhone 6, and it is said to measure around 4.7 inches as opposed to 4 inches on the iPhone 5S.
