We heard earlier in the week that TSMC had started production of the new Apple A8 processor for the iPhone 6, and now according to a recent report, Apple has placed a large order for the handset with Foxconn.
This has yet to be confirmed, by according to the Digitimes, Apple has placed an order for 90 million iPhone 6 units from Foxconn, which would be the company’s largest iPhone order to date.
The iPhone 6 is expected to launch in September of this year, along with the new Apple iWatch, and there have been various rumors about the hardware on the handset.
The iPhone 5S comes with a 4 inch display, and Apple are also rumored to go for a larger display on the iPhone 6, possibly around 4.7 inches.
We heard previously that Apple may also use sapphire glass in the iPhone 6, of course this has yet t be confirmed, the company is also expected to use sapphire glass in their new iWatch.
