The Samsung Gear VR was announced last month, Samsung have yet to give any official details on pricing or a release date for their new VR headset.
Now according to a recent report, it looks like we may have some details on the Samsung Gear VR release date, and also the pricing of the device.
We previously heard a rumor that the Samsung Gear VR would retail for $199, and now some leaked documents, which have apparently come from Samsung, have revealed that the device will retail for 200,000 won, about $190 at the current exchange rate, when the device launches in South Korea.
This would tie in with the $199 price for the Samsung Gear VR we heard previously for the U.S., and according to the documents, the Gear VR will launch in South Korea on the 1st of December.
We suspect that the release date for the device in the U.S. and Europe will be slightly later than the 1st of December, as Samsung tends to launch its devices in its home country first. Samsung could launch the device in the U.S. and Europe a couple of week later, so we may see it launching some time in December.
Neither the release date of the 1st of December, or the $199 pricing for the Samsung Gear VR have been confirmed by Samsung, as soon as we get some confirmation, we will let you guys know.
