Earlier this month Samsung unveiled their new virtual reality headset in the form of the Samsung Gear VR which has been designed to be used with Samsung’s flagship Note 4 smartphone to provide users with an immersive Oculus Rift style virtual reality experience using their handset to provide the processing power.
At the current time Samsung has not divulged any official release date for its new Gear VR wearable headset but visitors to Best Buy stores located in Los Angeles have reported seeing Samsung Gear VR demonstration units available to try (pictured below)
Samsung announced their new Samsung Gear VR was developed in conjunction with Oculus VR the creators of the awesome Oculus Rift virtual reality headset and will be priced at around $199 and £150 in the UK when it launches.
The Gear VR headset has been specifically designed for use with the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphone also unveiled at IFA 2014 earlier this year. The Note 4 is fitted with a 5.7 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen providing the Gear VR headset with a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels.
