Nintendo has this week released a video demonstrating their new Nintendo Wii U quick boot feature which will be rolling out to its game console during the summer months of this year.
The new update for the Nintendo Wii U Has been created to reduce the time the console takes to load software by providing users with a list of recently accessed applications and played games.
The new quick access Nintendo Wii U menu allows users to skip the console’s home screen providing a much faster way to access their games and applications. Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata revealed the new demonstration during last night’s investor presentation, explaining :
“The integration of this feature is almost complete, and this is how it will actually work on the Wii U system,”-“We will deliver this update to Wii U owners when we update the Wii U hardware either before or during summer.”
Nintendo has also indicated in a separate report that the Wii U’s regular system boot procedure will also see a speed up when the summer update is released later this year. Nintendo also revealed their new range of Nintendo Figurine Platform figures, that it hopes will compete with the likes of Skylanders and Disney Infinity-style NFC figurines.
The Nintendo Figurine Platform is still currently under development and is expected to officially launch later this year for the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS handheld games console in the first half of 2015.
