Samsung has replaced the head of their mobile design team, the former head of the team, Chang Dong-hoon is being replaced by Lee Min-hyouk.
Samsung has not revealed why the head of their mobile design team is being replaced, although there is speculation that it is because of less than positive response to the design of the company’s latest smartphone, the Galaxy S5.
Lee Min-hyouk has played a major part in designing Samsung’s Galaxy range of devices, which have become some of the most popular devices available today.
Chang Dong-Hoon will move into the role of the head of Samsung’s design center, which is in charge of the company’s overall design strategy.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 has be criticized for feeling cheap when compared to devices like the new HTC One, the company is also working on a new high end version of the device, the Galaxy S5 Prime, which is said to be a more premium handset with higher specifications.
It will be interesting to see if Samsung decides to go for higher end materials on the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, or if the device will get the same design as the Galaxy S5.
