Porsche has taken the wraps off its new Porsche 718 Cayman and like the new Boxster range that was revealed back in January, the new Cayman comes with turbocharged engines.
The entry level Porsche 718 Cayman is equipped with a 2.0 litre turbo charged engine that has 300 horsepower and the 718 Cayman S comes with a 2.5 litre turbocharged engine that has 350 horsepower.
The standard 718 Cayman has 380 Nm of torque this is up 90 Nm on the previous model and the 718 Cayman S has 420 Nm of torque, this is up 50 Nm on the previous model, the S also comes with a turbo charger that has variable turbine geometry (VGT), this technology is used in the Porsche 911 Turbo.
As well as the new engine the new Cayman also comes with a retuned chassis that is designed to be firmer it also features retuned shocks and the rear wheels are one inch wider than the previous model.
Porsche has also redesigned the interior of the car and it comes with Porsche Communication Management (PCM) as standard.
Porsche will launch their new 718 Cayman in the UK in September, the entry level model will start at £39,878 and the S model will start at £48,834, the pricing is similar to the car it is replacing.
