If you enjoy building projects using the awesome Raspberry Pi mini PC, you might be interested in a new DIY robotic kit called the PiBot which uses the Raspberry Pi as its controller.
The Raspberry Pi powered PiBot robot kit has been designed and created for digital makers, students and hobbyists wanting to learn more about robots and have fun with technology using the Raspberry Pi.
The PiBot Robot kit will soon be launching over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website and is currently looking for beta testers to help finalise and develop the robot kit design even further. Its creators explain a little more about their PiBot robot kit.
“A PiBot project goal is to develop a super-easy interface so that the PiBot can be accessed and controlled through any web browser. This will mean that you’ll be able to control and program your PiBot from any smart phone, tablet or computer in a simple-to-use interface.
If you feel that controlling PiBot through a Command Line Interface (CLI) is beyond your experience then fear not – we hope to release a simpler way in a few months. If you’d like to learn more about using a Raspberry Pi with a CLI or you’d like to meet a PiBot at first hand why not sign up for one of our PiBot workshops.”
As soon as the PiBot Robot kit launch is over on the Kickstarter crowd funding website we will keep you updated as always. If you are interested in all things Pi you might also be interested in the new Raspberry Pi Maynard desktop environment which is also being developed.
