We have heard a number of rumors about the new Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones. The latest one is that Google will ditch the headphone jack with this years Pixel handsets.
Apple got rid of the headphone jack on their iPhone 7 and 7 Plus when they were introduced last year and other manufacturers have started to do the same thing.
When Apple’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus were released without a headphone jack, Google and other companies made fun of Apple for removing the headphone jack. Google even did this is their video for their new Pixel handsets, you can see the video below.
So if Google do decide to release this years Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones withoug a headphone hack it would be slightly ironic, considering that they made fun of Apple when they launched the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
We are expecting the new Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones some time before the end of the year. The handsets will come with the next major release of Google’s mobile OS, Android 8.0 O.
