A new biometric padlock has launched by Kickstarter this week in the form of the NetBolt, a fingerprint padlock that is capable of storing up to 20 fingerprints enabling access biometric leave without the need for a companion application or Bluetooth connection The NetBolt Smart Fingerprint padlocks identify users to 99.999% accuracy and unlocks in just 0.5 of a second say it’s creators.
Earlybird pledges are now available from $38 offering a considerable saving of the recommended retail price of $60. Unfortunately worldwide shipping is unavailable but shipping throughout the United States is expected to take place sometime around May 2019. The internal 400 mAh battery ensures the fingerprint can function for up to 200 days on a single charge under normal use. When the padlocked factory is running low a handy LED indicator will turn red, indicating that battery power has fallen to less than 10%.
“NetBolt is THE most secure smart padlock. We value our customer valuables’ safety as our top priority. As a result, the product we came up with is like none of the others. The NetBolt Smart Padlock’s body is made out of one piece aluminum alloy and the lock beam is made by stainless steel for superior cut resistance. Protect your cabinet and your home against thieves. All parts are welded together instead of screwed together to ensure the lock is unhackable. Our fingerprint padlock also functions completely offline to ensure your personal identity is unhackable by a third party. Fingerprint information is stored locally in a secure enclave.“
