If you have ever fancied building your very own mechanical watch, you may be interested in a new mechanical watch kit launched via Kickstarter this week called Rotate. The kit supplies everything you need to learn the craft of watchmaking and build your very own mechanical wristwatch. If the Kickstarter campaign is successful worldwide shipping is expected to take place in a couple of months time during December 2019. The watchmaking team behind the kit explains more about the Kickstarter campaign and project. Rotate was founded by watchmakers who saw inefficiencies in the age-old industry of watchmaking. In the words of the companies founder, “I created what I wish I had when building my first watch.” We’re here to share the passion and hope you enjoy building watches as much as we do!
“Since we’re working with more than a handful of different suppliers, our biggest challenge will be aligning all partners to meet the campaign deadline. We understand the importance of a timely delivery – especially when taking the holidays into consideration, and are working our hardest to get your reward in your hands before the end of December.
Another challenge also stems from the number of different suppliers. While we will maintain the styles and colors photographed in our campaign, there may end up being some parts that differ very slightly from photos. Regardless, all of our kits will be meticulously checked for quality assurance. Thank you so much for your support and understanding.
