We are expecting the new iPhone 8 to launch in September, Apple is also expected to launch two other handsets, the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus.
We previously heard rumors that production of the iPhone 8 could be delayed slightly and now a new report has surfaced which is claiming that production of all three handsets is delayed.
While there were previous reports indicating that volume production for new iPhone devices has commenced, yield rates at the two main ODMs, Foxconn Electronics and Pegatron, have not yet reached levels that warrant mass production, the report said.
Foxconn will apparently produce the majority of the new iPhone 8 handset an Pegatron and ODM Wistron will produce the other two handsets.
Foxconn has secured about 95% of orders for the OLED model and small volume orders for 4.7- and 5.5-inch models, while Pegatron will produce 65% of 4.7-inch iPhone 7s and a small portion of the OLED model. A third ODM Wistron will produce mainly the 5.5-inch model, noted the report.
Of course this is just a rumor at the moment and there it is probably more likely that we will see the new iPhone in September as Apple had planned.
