HTC is rumored to be working on a new Nexus tablet codenamed Volantis. The alleged tablet has made its way to the rumor mill several times in the past.
According to a new report, the purported HTC Volantis tablet just passed certification in South Korea. If you can’t recall, the alleged tablet also landed in India for testing purposes a few weeks back.
The listing on RRA, FCC alternative in South Korea, certified the tablet. Although the listing doesn’t mention anything related to Volantis, it’s the model number which is of importance, that is, 0P8210000. If you can’t recall, the infamous @evleaks posted this model number along with the name Flounder a few weeks back.
As for the specifications, rumors suggest it will come with an 8.9-inch display sporting a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, a Tegra K1 64-bit processor under the hood for processing power, 2/3GB of RAM, 16/32/64GB of internal storage, an 8MP camera on the back for photos and videos, as well as a 2MP front-facing camera and should come with the latest version of Android, possibly Android L.
There’s no official word about its existence at the moment so a grain of salt is required to digest this. This could be any other device from HTC, so let’s just wait for some more information.
