Last week we heard that the HTC One M7 would not be getting the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the mobile carrier versions of the device.
HTC’s Mo Versi announced on Twitter last week that the Android 5.1 update would only be available for the Google Play Edition version of the device.
After this announcement owners of the HTC One M7 were less than pleased with the news and let Mo Versi know about their concerns on Twitter, he has now responded and it looks like there may be hope for other versions of the handset getting the update.
I heard you all on M7 5.1 for Carrier versions. Many of the fixes are already in our current SW, but understand your concerns. Stay tuned.

Of course this is not exactly confirmation that the carrier versions of the HTC One M7 will get the Android 5.1 Lollipop update, but it does look promising. As soon as we get some more details on whether the updates are being released, we will let you guys know.
