We have been hearing for a while that Google is working on their own voice activated virtual assistant for their Android platform that is designed to take on Apple’s Siri, and now according to a recent report Google are stepping up their development of their Google Assistant or Project Majel.
The WSJ are reporting that Google has now fast tracked the development of Project Majel, and they are expected to release something within the next couple of months.
It will be interesting to see what Google’s Assistant is like, apple will be bringing a number of improvements to Siri on the iPhone with the release of iOS 6 later this year.
Samsung recently launched their own voice activated assistant with the launch of the Galaxy S III smartphone, which is called S-Voice, and we saw a video of it last week side by side with Apple’s Siri.
