Hardware manufacturer ADATA has announced the launch of a new rugged, compact external solid state drive in the form of the ADATA SD600Q which offers a small drive with 960 GB of storage space. The SSD offers transfer speeds of up to 440MB per second read and write and is equipped with 3D NAND Flash, offering excellent performance, reliability, and shorter loading times.
Available in three colours black, red and blue the small drive measures just 80 x 80 x 15.2 mm and is available in capacities of 240, 480 and 960 GB. Weighing just 60 g or 2.1 ounces the small storage device is equipped with a USB 3.1 connection which is backward compatible with USB 2.0.
Encased in an antishock silicon casing the rugged little hard drive supports a wide variety of different operating systems including Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10, Mac OS X 10.6 or later, Linux Kernel 2.6 or later and Android 5.0 or later.
“Unlike hard drives, SSDs are perfect as external storage add-ons. They are quiet, completely cool, power efficient, and more durable thanks to the lack of moving parts. The SD600Q is driver-free compatible with Windows, Mac OS, and Android and supports hot plugging. It works out of the box with laptops, tablets, smartphones, and game consoles. This makes sharing and moving your content across platforms super easy, without worrying about lengthy installs.”
