The Amazon Smartphone has been rumored for some time, and we are expecting the device to finally launch this week. Amazon are holding a press conference this Wednesday the 18th of June, the company is expected to take the wraps of their new smartphone.
The new Amazon Smartphone is expected to run the same operating system as Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablets, the OS is based on Google’s Android and it is called Fire OS.
What we heard previously is that this new smartphone from Amazon will come with a 4.7 inch high definition display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, the handset is also rumored to come with a quad core Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm and 2GB of RAM.
This new Amazon smartphone will also come with some sort of 3D display, exactly how this will work is not known as yet, although the display is said to feature a number of front facing cameras to display 3D effects.
Amazon’s Kindle Fire range of tablets have been very popular for the company, and their new smartphone could also be another popular device for Amazon.
We should have full details on the new Amazon Smartphone later this week, including some actual photos of the device, and also the full specifications. We are expecting Amazon to make the device available to purchase some time this week, after the official announcement.
