We know Apple is planning to launch three versions of the iPhone X this year, two OLED models and one LCD handset with a 6.1 inch display.
Now it looks like we may have some more details about the 6.1 inch LCD iPhone X. According to a recent report, the 6.1 inch display on the handset will have a Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels.
The LCD iPhone is also said to come with an 18:9 aspect ratio, the device is expected to have a notch at the top of the display like the existing iPhone. The LCD display in the new iPhone will apparently be more advanced than LCD displays that were used in previous iPhones.
Apple are rumored to be using a new LCD display from Japan Display, the company produces a Full Active LCD display which you can see below. A version of this is expected to be produced for this years LCD iPhone.
The handset is expected to come with the same internals as the OLED iPhones, the LCD display will allow Apple to sell the handset at a lower price. Apple could differentiate the three handsets further by offering different cameras in the three devices. This is something it does with its iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, one comes with a single camera the other with a dual camera.
We are expecting these three new iPhones to be made official later in the year, Apple is expected to hold this years iPhone press event some time in September 2018.
