We recently heard that Apple has introduced a new keyboard design with their 2018 MacBook Pro, there is now a tiny silicone cover under each key to stop dust getting behind the keys.
Now the guys from iFixit who discovered the keyboard change have taken the new 2018 MacBook Pro apart to find out what was inside the device.
When iFixit takes a device apart it gives the device a score on its repair index of between 1 and 10. 1 means the device is very difficult to repair for the average consumer like me, 10 means it is very easy to repair.
How did the new 2018 MacBook Pro score on the iFixit index, it only managed to score 1 out of 10, this means it is very hard to repair. One of the main reasons for the low score is that the RAM, storage and processor are all soldered to the logic board. Also the top assembly, keyboard, battery and more are all glued together.
