ZyXEL Unveiled Worlds First MIMO Gigabit Powerline Adapter Unveiled

Gigabit Powerline Adapter

Expanding your network through the already existing power lines in your home or office has been easy in the past using one of the variety of powerline adapters currently available on the market.

However if you are looking to put some serious traffic through your home or office network you might be interested to learn that ZyXEL has this week introduced the worlds very first Gigabit Powerline Adapter range in the form of the ZyXEL PLA5206 and ZyXEL’s PLA5405.

The new Gigabit Powerline Adapters offers a maximum range of 984 feet and include both 128-bit AES encryption, and a handy power saving mode.

Both have been specifically designed to transmit multiple HD video streams simultaneously and the PLA5206 provides transfer speeds of up to 1Gbps, while the 1.2 Gbps PLA5405 features Line-Natural / Line-Ground MIMO1smart-antenna technology. Steven Joe, executive vice president for channel business for Americas at ZyXEL explains :

“ZyXEL continues to push the envelope, launching better, faster and simpler home networking solutions,”-“Our new powerline adapters will offer consumers more choices in plug-n-play, gigabit home networking technology.”

The ZyXEL PLA5206 will be sold in pairs PLA5206KIT for $160 and will be available from September 1st 2014, the PLA5405 will be available the month after in October 2014. For more information on the new Gigabit Powerline Adapter jump over to the ZyXEL press release for details.
