ZTE has added another new Android smartphone to their range with the launch of the ZTE Blade 3, which is designed to be a budget Android device that will retail for £80 in the UK.
The ZTE Blade 3 features a 4 inch TFT display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, and processing is provided by a single core 1GHz processor, plus it also comes with 512MB of RAM.
Other specifications on the ZTE Blade 3 include 4GB of built-in storage, a 5 megapixel camera, plus a 1,600 mAh battery, it will come with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Design and Build Quality
The ZTE Blade 3 sports a sleek and minimalist design, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers. The device is lightweight, which makes it easy to carry around, and its compact size ensures that it fits comfortably in one hand. The build quality is decent for a budget phone, with a sturdy plastic body that can withstand everyday wear and tear. The 4-inch display, while not the largest on the market, is sufficient for basic tasks such as browsing the web, checking emails, and using social media apps.
Performance and Usability
While the ZTE Blade 3 is not a powerhouse, its single core 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM are adequate for basic smartphone functions. Users can expect smooth performance for tasks like making calls, sending texts, and using lightweight apps. However, the device may struggle with more demanding applications and multitasking. The 4GB of built-in storage is quite limited, but users can expand the storage via a microSD card, allowing for additional space for apps, photos, and music.
The 5 megapixel camera on the ZTE Blade 3 is another notable feature. While it may not compete with higher-end smartphones, it is capable of capturing decent photos in good lighting conditions. The camera app is straightforward and easy to use, making it suitable for casual photography.
Battery life is another important aspect of any smartphone, and the ZTE Blade 3 does not disappoint in this regard. The 1,600 mAh battery provides enough power to get through a full day of moderate usage. Users can expect to make calls, send texts, and browse the web without constantly worrying about recharging their device.
The ZTE Blade 3 will retail for £69.99 here in the UK on a pay as you go basis although you will need to spend £10 on a PAYG top up with the purchase of the device so the real cost will be around £80, the handset will be available with Virgin Media shortly.
The ZTE Blade 3 is a solid choice for those looking for an affordable Android smartphone. Its combination of decent performance, adequate camera capabilities, and good battery life make it a practical option for budget-conscious consumers. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of more expensive devices, it offers good value for its price point.
