Following on from the announcement of the new Micron Edge Storage MicroSDXC cards specifically designed for surveillance applications, Western Digital has now introduced their WD Purple microSD Card which is also being created for the demands of modern surveillance cameras and edge systems. The new WD Purple microSD Card will be available worldwide later this month in both 32GB and 64GB capacities for $18.99 and $31.99 respectively and is available in single and 25-packs for surveillance system installers.
Features of the WD Purple microSD Card include support for up to 1,000 PE cycles, a unique health monitor offers reporting capabilities to provide users and system installers valuable information, including the card’s endurance and capacity status. While offering speeds of up to 80 MB/s sequential read and 50 MB/s sequential write together with support four Speed Class 10 and UHS Speed Class 1.
