Toshiba has launched the worlds first SDHC card that comes with NFC built in, the device will be available in three sizes, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB.
This new Toshiba SDHC card with NFC can be used with your Android smartphone to work out how much space you have on the card, and to also preview thumbnails of your photos.
In order to find out what is stored inside SD memory cards, you usually need to put them into PCs or digital cameras. The new product utilizes the features of NFC technology to exchange data simply with a touch. By holding an NFC-enabled AndroidTM smartphone, with the app “Memory Card Preview” [3] installed, over the memory cards lets you preview the available storage space, as well as 16 thumbnails (max.) of the photos stored in the card.
Toshiba are showing off these new SDHC cards at CES this week, the company will launch them in February, as yet there are no details on pricing.
