Yesterday we saw a teaser photo of the new Mercedes AMG hypercar, it is now official, the Mercedes AMG Project One. The new Mercedes AMG Project One is a hybrid supercar that comes with a massive 1000 horsepower.
Mercedes have not revealed the exact performance figures, although they have announced that it has a top speed above 350 km/h which is about 218 miles per hour. They also revealed that this new hypercar will have a 0 to 124 miles per hour (200 km/h) time of under six seconds, this is impressive.
Powering the new Project One is a turbocharges 1.6 litre v6 petrol engine and four electric motors, the five combined power plants provide more than 1,000 horsepower. It also comes with an 8 speed manual transmission that Mercedes and AMG have developed from scratch for the Project One.

Our highly efficient hybrid assembly stems from motor racing and the electrically powered front axle generates a fascinating mixture of performance and efficiency. With a system output of over 1,000 hp and a top speed beyond 350 km/h this hypercar handles exactly as it looks: it takes your breath away”, Ola Källenius says, Member of the Daimler AG Board of Management responsible for Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars Development.
Mercedes will be showing off their new AMG Project One hypercar at the Frankfurt motor show which starts later this week. Pricing for this new supercar is expected to be around £2.5 million when it goes into production, you can find out more details about the car at the link below.
