The new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus smartphones will go on sale next Friday. The handsets get some major upgrades over the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, these include the new Apple A11 Bionic mobile processor.
We have already seen that this new mobile processor has some impressive performance improvements over the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The A11 Bionic chip features a six-core CPU design, with two performance cores that are 25% faster and four efficiency cores that are 70% faster than the previous A10 Fusion chip. This results in a significant boost in both speed and efficiency, making the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus more powerful and capable of handling more demanding tasks and applications.
Enhanced Camera Capabilities
Another major upgrade in the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus is the improved camera system. The iPhone 8 features a 12-megapixel rear camera with a larger and faster sensor, a new color filter, and deeper pixels. The iPhone 8 Plus, on the other hand, comes with a dual 12-megapixel camera system, which includes a wide-angle and a telephoto lens. This allows for better zoom capabilities and the introduction of Portrait Lighting, a feature that uses machine learning to create professional lighting effects in portrait mode.
Wireless Charging and Improved Display
One of the most anticipated features of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus is the introduction of wireless charging. Both models support the Qi wireless charging standard, allowing users to charge their devices without the need for cables. This is a significant step forward in convenience and aligns with Apple’s vision of a wireless future.
The display on the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus has also been enhanced with True Tone technology. This feature adjusts the white balance of the display to match the ambient light around you, providing a more natural and comfortable viewing experience. The Retina HD display also offers a wider color gamut and improved color accuracy, making photos, videos, and apps look more vibrant and lifelike.
