Sony has launched its first range of external hard drives, the Sony HD-PG5 series which are designed to be used with Sony’s Bravia HDTVs and also computers and laptops.
The Sony HD-PG5 Series hard drives come with a USB connection and they are capable or recording HDTV programmes with compatible Sony TVs and can also be used to copy movies from Sony HandyCam camcorders.
Available in a choice of black or white finishes and weighing a travel-friendly 180g, the stylish drives co-ordinate beautifully with your PC, BRAVIA® or PlayStation®3. The smoothly-contoured case is finished in a scratch-resistant paint layer that keeps your drive looking good for longer. The minimalist design is enhanced by a single blue LED that indicates drive activity.
The Sony HD-PG5 comes with 500GB of storage and it is compatible with Windows and Mac OS X, they will go on sale in Europe from mid July, there are no details on pricing as yet.
