The Samsung Galaxy S III is due to go on sale in the UK today. We had the official announcement from Samsung earlier this morning, although there seem to be some reports that there may be a few delays with some versions of the Galaxy S III.
According to the guys over at Clove, who were expecting to have the SIM-free version of the Samsung Galaxy S III available from tomorrow, they won’t have any stock of the handset until the 1st of June for the white version and the 5th of June for the blue version.
There are no details as yet on whether any other retailers have experienced delays on the Galaxy S III. The handset should be available from multiple mobile carriers today and tomorrow. As soon as we get some more information, we will let you guys know.
Features and Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy S III is packed with a plethora of features that make it one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year. It boasts a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, providing vibrant colors and sharp images. The device is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos processor, ensuring smooth performance and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
The Galaxy S III comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera capable of recording full HD video and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls and selfies. One of the standout features of the camera is its burst shot mode, which allows users to capture multiple photos in quick succession, ensuring that you never miss a moment.
In terms of storage, the Galaxy S III offers options of 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB, with the ability to expand storage further via a microSD card slot. The device also includes a 2100mAh battery, which provides ample power to get through a full day of use.
Software and User Experience
The Samsung Galaxy S III runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface layered on top. This combination provides a user-friendly experience with a range of customization options. One of the key software features is S Voice, Samsung’s voice recognition system, which allows users to perform various tasks using voice commands, such as setting alarms, sending messages, and searching the web.
Another notable feature is Smart Stay, which uses the front-facing camera to detect when you are looking at the screen, keeping it bright as long as you are engaged with the device. This is particularly useful for reading e-books or browsing the web for extended periods.
The Galaxy S III also includes NFC (Near Field Communication) capabilities, enabling features like S Beam, which allows users to quickly share files, photos, and videos by simply tapping two Galaxy S III devices together. Additionally, the device supports wireless charging, making it convenient for users to keep their phone powered up without the need for cables.
The Samsung Galaxy S III is designed with a sleek and ergonomic form factor, making it comfortable to hold and use. The device is available in two color options, Pebble Blue and Marble White, catering to different aesthetic preferences.
As the Galaxy S III hits the market, it is expected to face stiff competition from other flagship devices, such as the iPhone 4S and the HTC One X. However, with its impressive hardware, innovative software features, and strong brand reputation, the Galaxy S III is well-positioned to attract a large number of consumers.
In conclusion, while there may be some initial delays in the availability of certain versions of the Samsung Galaxy S III, the device’s advanced features and capabilities make it a highly desirable smartphone. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
