We knew that Samsung would launch their first smartphone with a flexible display this week, the device is now official and the rumors were correct, it is called the Samsung Galaxy Round.
The Samsung Galaxy Round features a 5.7 inch full HD super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the display is curved and the handset also comes with some other impressive specifications.
The Galaxy Round features a quad core 2.3GHz processor and 3GB of RAM, it also comes with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and features a 13 megapixel camera, have a look at the video below.
Other specifications on the Samsung Galaxy Round include LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0 and it comes with 32GB of built in storage.
The Galaxy Round measures just 7.9mm thick and weighs in at 154g, it comes with a number of features, like the Roll Effect, which lets you to check information like missed calls, the date and time whilst the display is off.
The handset also features a ‘Gravity Effect’ which Samsung says creates visual interaction with the display when you tilt the handset, and it also comes with a dedicated music feature called Bounce UX.
Bounce UX will allow you to control the music on your device, Samsung explains how the Bounce You UX works, ‘When the GALAXY ROUND’s display is off while the music player is running, a short press to the left of the device will play the previous track while a short press to the right will play the next track. ‘
The Samsung Galaxy Round will be launched in South Korea first, the handset will be available in ‘Luxury Brown’ at launch and additional colors will be available at a later date, you can find out more information about the device over at Samsung at the link below.
