The new Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are both waterproof and now it would appear that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will also be waterproof.
According to a recent report the Galaxy Note 6 will come with an IP68 rating this is the same rating as the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.
The IP68 rating for the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will allow the handset to be placed in up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes, we recently saw that the Samsung Galaxy S7 can be placed in water for much longer than Samsung specifies and the Note 6 could also be the same.
Previous rumors on the Galaxy Note 6 have suggested that the handset will be equipped with a 5.7 inch 4K display and the device will also apparently come with 6GB of RAM.
The handset is expected to be powered by either the Samsung Exynos 8990 or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and it may be the first Samsung smartphone to launch with a 256GB storage option using Samsung’s new 256GB UFS storage.
The cameras on the device are rumored to be the same ones as found in the S7 and S7 Edge, these will include a 5 megapixel front facing camera and a 12 megapixel rear camera which can record Ultra HD video in 4K.
Samsung are expected to launch their Galaxy Note 6 earlier than last years handset and July looks like a good bet for the release date of the device. There is also the possiblity that the handset will come with the next major release of Google’s mobile OS, Android N.
