Last month, Samsung released an update for Galaxy Gear smartwatch that introduced some much needed features, including full notifications support for all applications and improved battery life.
Now, the update is rolling out for Samsung Galaxy Gear users in the US and bumps the software version to V700XXUAMK7.
Along with improved battery life and full notifications support, the update also comes with improve range and connection, allowing the smartwatch to stay connected even if the phone is a little farther from the watch, and a bump in performance of the watch.
Here’s the full changelog:
- Improved range and connection: Samsung says the Gear can now stray a little farther from the phone before losing its connection. That’s good — it felt pretty short before. The automatic connection feature has been improved as well.
- Improved battery life. Again, that addresses one of the chief complaints about the Gear. We’ll have to see how much longer it lasts.
- S Voice search should be faster.
- “Your Gear’s performance has been improved and its features have been enhanced.”
The update is rolling out over-the-air and should reach all the devices in the coming days. Alternatively, you can also connect your smartwatch to Kies and update the software manually.
