Rovi has announced that it is buying TiVo in a deal which is worth $1.1 billion, the company pay $10.70 per share in cash and stock for TiVo.
Rovi holds a number of patents related to entertainment and these must be lucrative for the company if it can afford to pay $1.1 billion for TiVo
