With the world on the brink of chaos and collapse, the population of Earth have found salvation in a virtual reality universe called the Oasis. Ready Player One is directed by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay by Zak Penn and Ernest Cline, and produced by produced by Donald De Line, Spielberg, Kristie Macosko Krieger and Dan Farah.The movie stars Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn and T.J. Miller, with Simon Pegg and Mark Rylance and will be premiering in theatre screens worldwide on March 29th, 2018.
The movie tells the story of a competition created by brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance) who created the Oasis. The winner of the competition, the first person to find the digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the Oasis will inherit his immense fortune. Unlikely young hero, Wade played by Tye Sheridan decides to join the contest and is sent on a reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.
