Using the power of the Raspberry Pi the and team at Henge has created a small device capable of controlling up to 500+ sensors, providing an affordable “brain for your sensors”. The system can be used to control a variety of different applications such as camera arrays for photography and image generation.
Launched via Kickstarter this week Henge Box is available from €400 for a starter pack with worldwide delivery planned to start during March 2020. The small development team explain a little more about the development process, Kickstarter campaign and Henge Box.
“One of the main ingredients to make the Henge Box a quality product has been to think carefully about its design. Indeed, our vision is to manufacture a product locally by choosing the best local manufacturer. This allows us to be close to it and iterate very quickly if there is a problem, which is more difficult if we had sourced manufacturers in China. We have selected the right manufacturers, materials and processes to make the Henge Box an exceptional product. We are not immune to a problem with a manufacturer delaying the delivery date. Yes, but we have sourced several manufacturers who can meet our request if plan A does not work as planned, we have a plan B!”
