Pioneer has announced a new DJ controller aimed at entry-level DJs who are shopping for a high quality controller a budget. The controller is called the DDJ-SB two-channel DJ controller. It has the same look and feel as the more expensive DDJ-SX and DDJ-SR controllers at a significantly lower price and offers more basic operation. The DDJ-SB is designed to use the Serato DJ Intro software.
The SB is an all-in-one system with a two-channel mixer and two decks each featuring a large jog wheel for mixing and scratching. It also features for rubber performance pass under each jog wheel providing HOT CUE, AUTO LOOP, MANUAL LOOP and SAMPLER functions. A second row of rubberized pads offers the basic DJ functions, Play, Cue, Sync and Shift. The controller also has a new Filter Feed function making it easy to apply natural sounding mix effects.
The DDJ-SB is powered by a USB port connection from a laptop computer. It also has a built-in USB soundcard. The controller is made with integrated handles to make it easy to carry with you on the go. The DDJ-SB is set to launch in January 2014 for $299.
