Phones 4U is no longer operational as you know, and has entered administration after Vodafone and EE cancelled their contracts with the retailer. This led to its closure, putting at stake over 5,000 jobs, out which several stores have been acquired by Vodafone and EE. Dixon Carphone also took 800 staff members of the retailer, thus saving jobs.
There’s a bad news for customers who pre-orders the iPhone 6 from the retailer. Previously, the company mentioned all those who pre-ordered the iPhone 6 or the 6 Plus will get a refund, but it seems that’s not the case. As per a message posted on the website, the company doesn’t have the devices, so customers who pre-ordered them won’t receive them.
The joint administrators answered some questions on the company’s website, and as far as the customers who pre-ordered the iPhone 6/6 Plus are concerned, they are requested to get in touch with their credit card company to resolve the issue. They can also register a claim, but it will be ranked as an unsecured one.
Unfortunately we do not have any iPhone 6’s therefore customers who have pre-ordered an iPhone 6 through Phones 4u will not receive their purchase. Customers who have paid using credit cards should contact their credit card company to try and seek resolution to this matter. If you are unable to obtain a refund through your credit card company and wish to register a claim, your claim (to the extent you have one) will rank as an unsecured claim in the Administration – please see below for further details.
We’re hoping credit card companies will be able to help the customers.
