Anyone that would like to keep track of their health and well-being may be interested in a new ‘wellness computer’ that has been fitted into a ring called the OURA.
The OURA ring has been specifically designed to improve your sleep as well as increase your performance in everyday life. Keeping you updated on your sleep patterns and activities by combining with a companion application that is loaded onto your smartphone device.
OURA launched over on the Kickstarter website with the aim of raising $100,000 to help take the concept into production. However with still 35 days remaining of the campaign, the OURA development team have already raised over $175,000 thanks to over 725 backers.
ŌURA is a revolutionary wellness ring and app, designed to help you get more restful sleep and perform better. It enables you to learn how your lifestyle choices affect your sleep, and how the quality of your sleep affects your ability to perform.
The ŌURA ring can automatically tell when you are sleeping. When you go to sleep, the ŌURA ring analyzes the quality of your rest and recovery by measuring your heart rate (optically), respiration rate, body temperature, and movement. While you are awake, it monitors the duration and intensity of your activities, and the time you spend sitting.
The ŌURA app integrates and visualizes this data to identify patterns between your sleep quality and daily activities. By understanding how well you slept and recharged, it can determine your readiness to perform and help you adjust the intensity and duration of your day’s activities. It can also uncover actionable insights for changes to your daily activities that can help you sleep better.
