Mozilla has opened up its new Mozilla Marketplace for testing purposes allowing you to to register and take a look at its new offerings, before the site officially goes live.
Currently there are over 200 applications available to download and Mozilla’s Marketplace goes a little further than Google’s Chrome Web Store. By installing your applications into the operating system’s application menu and desktop as quick-access shortcuts.
Allowing you to launch a web app without a browser needing to be open. Mozilla explains:
“We’re inviting Mozillians to take the Marketplace for a test drive and discover the best the Web has to offer. Download apps, give them a try and let us know what you think. Thanks for your support!”
If you fancy giving the new Mozilla Marketplace a go you will need to install a pre-alpha version of Firefox to gain access to all its features. More information is available over on the Mozilla Marketplace website.
