Instructables members and team behind the PiJuice Raspberry Pi portable battery pack that recently launched over on Kickstarter, have unveiled another useful creation they have built using the PiJuice in the form of a lightweight DIY Raspberry Pi laptop.
The Raspberry Pi laptop has been constructed using a PiJuice battery pack, Raspberry Pi a+ mini PC, an Adafruit 5″ TFT Screen together with a Wireless Keyboard and Mouse.
As well as a short HDMI Cable, micro SD card and adapter as well as an assortment of laser cut parts, spacers and screws. PiJuice explains:
“This is a really quick and easy project with a great outcome. The Portable Pi Laptop is a cost effective alternative to a standard laptop, it’s great for developing software whilst on the go, it’s easy to build and it’s great fun!
Portability would generally be the main challenge with projects such as this; it can be difficult to get power off grid. However, in my case this is one hurdle which I am able to easily overcome; as with all of my other projects I have been using the PiJuice as an integrated battery module, which is able to provide all of the features you would ordinarily find in your laptop’s powering system.”
