Klymit has unveiled a new jacket they have created that doesn’t use the traditional down, to insulate its wearer but argon gas, due to its low thermal conductivity.
The Klymit Ulaar Jacket is equipped with a pump that can inflate the jacket with argon gas when you need extra warmth and insulation. Or let the argon gas out when you need to cool down little, or the climate is a little warmer.
The NobleTek technology which Klymit has been under development for some time and has been used in vest jackets since 2009. The argon gas provides around the same installation as 14mm of solid insulation. Allowing you to stay warm without the necessary bulk of down or other insulating materials.
Klymit’s Ulaar Jacket will be arriving in the U.S. during the fall and will be showcased in Europe next month during the Germany Outdoor Show 2012.
